liz_burke_animal_clinic.jpgLiz, Practice Manager

Although Liz just joined the Burke Animal Clinic team in May of 2010, she has been a very happy client for over 14 years. She has been pursuing her passion for animals through volunteer work with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and has fostered 25 dogs over the last few years. She finally made the break from her job as a project manager at a large financial institution to work in the pet industry, starting out as the general manager of a doggie daycare and pet sitting business and then moving on to a dream job working with the wonderful doctors and staff at Burke Animal Clinic.

Liz is responsible for day-to-day management of the clinic as well as marketing and communications, hiring, and helping to foster partnerships with local rescues and nonprofit organizations.

regina_burke_animal_clinic.jpgRegina, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Regina joined the practice in November of 1991. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Syracuse University and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from Northern Virginia Community College, where she graduated summa cum laude.

A love of animals, medicine and technology makes Veterinary Medicine the perfect choice for this technician.

eva_burke_animal_clinic.jpgEva, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Eva joined Burke Animal Clinic in 2007.  Initially she worked as a receptionist and then as a vet assistant.  Working as an assistant led to her desire to become a technician.  Eva earned her veterinary technician degree and license in 2009.  After graduation she worked at the clinic for a while and then chose to expand her veterinary horizons.  For roughly 2 ½ years she worked at a local animal shelter, running the anesthesia for their on-site spay/neuter clinic.  Her time at the shelter was very rewarding. She learned a lot! However, she missed the long-term relationship with both the clients and their pets, a relationship you can only get from a small, intimate practice. She treasured her previous time at Burke Animal Clinic so when she was ready to leave the shelter, her first choice was BAC. She rejoined the team in February 2014 and is very excited to be back! Eva shares her home with her husband and their big eared four legged pit mix, Tango!

Faith, Licensed Veterinary Technician

cassi_burke_animal_clinic.jpgCassi, Veterinary Assistant

Cassi found her way to Burke Animal Clinic in 2010 after six years of working in the animal field, starting as an assistant dive safety officer at an aquarium in North Carolina.  Working closely with their husbandry staff she discovered her love for caring for animals.

After the aquarium she worked in small animal clinics before moving back to Virginia.  Cassi is interested in anesthesia, rehabilitation and emergency/trauma veterinary medicine.

Joyce, Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant

Joyce came to Burke Animal Clinic in July of 2012.  What appealed to us at first was her experience at a call center help desk.  The front desk can be challenging on busy days with booked appointments, ringing phones and emergencies and we need people who can handle those challenges while being compassionate and caring.  Joyce filled those shoes pretty easily!  And, she adds value by being able to work as a receptionist and vet assistant. She is currently in school working towards becoming a vet!

Jose, Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant

Jose came to Burke Animal Clinic in October 2013.  He was referred to us by Andrea, one of our vet assistants.  And we are so thankful!!  Jose started at the front desk as a receptionist and now is cross-trained to work as a vet assistant.  He also works with his father providing home healthcare to people who need medical assistance at home.  He has a wonderful way with people and animals and it shows!

Sarah, Senior Receptionist

Sara has been with Burke Animal Clinic since October 2011.  Clients are familiar with her smiling face and wonderful laugh.  Her love of animals and people is evident every day as she goes above and beyond to help our clients and patients get the care they need.  Sarah and Liz worked together at Dog Paws and Cat Claws Daycare and Pet Sitting previously.  When Liz came to work at Burke Animal Clinic as the Practice Manager, she knew one of her first things to do was get Sarah to join the team!  Sarah has been a key member of our pet care team ever since.

Lena, Receptionist

Lena came to work at Burke Animal Clinic in November 2010.  Lena has a lot of experience in the medical field and works at a hospital in Arlington.  But, she loves animals and people so much, she comes to Burke Animal Clinic to work because it's so much fun and she always  says "it's her home away from home"!  Lena's long time here at the clinic adds great value to our team.  She is a proud and wonderful puppy-mama to 4 fur babies, a pit bull baby named Dewby and 3 chihuahua mix puppies named Benny, Mimi and Terry Jane!   Her warm and friendly personality puts people and their pets at ease!

Molly, Receptionist

Molly joined our team in April of 2014.  If you've called us or come in to the clinic, you'll notice she's the quiet one, but she makes a big impact!  She is warm and friendly and keeps an eye on priorities at the front desk.  She also has taken a vet assistant certification course and hopes to work as a vet assistant.

Linda, Receptionist

Linda joined our team in 2014.  She is a foster for one of our rescue partners, Fancy Cat Rescue. After bringing her fosters here for care, she thought it might be a fun place to work so she answered an employment ad we placed.   She has quickly become a valued member of our team.  She is a real estate agent with wonderful people skills!  This, combined with her love of animals, makes this the perfect fit!
